The Woman Who Came Back..

I worked the early shift at a small pharmacy when a desperate mother arrived with her feverish daughter, begging for medicine and promising to pay later. Although policy said no, I gave her the medicine, a thermometer, and drinks. The next day, my boss showed me security footage of the woman secretly leaving an envelope beneath a display. Inside was a certified bank draft covering the medicine and months of supplies for families who couldn’t afford prescriptions, along with a note: “For the one who chose a child over a rule, please make sure no mother has to ask twice.” Two days later, she returned with her healthy daughter and revealed that she quietly funded pediatric health programs. My boss used the money to create an assistance fund and put me in charge, but what stayed with me was knowing that one small act of kindness had opened the door to helping countless other families.
